The Rugby Football Union has given Twickenham stadium a bold new branding, as the venue looks to become a standalone destination for entertainment, events, conferences and business meetings, as well as rugby.
Following on from Twickenham’s recent south stand development, the stadium is now the largest dedicated to rugby in the world. Distinctive new visuals, which combine a strong ‘T’ with graphic concentric circles, have been designed to reflect and express the buzz of Twickenham, while also presenting numerous licensing and merchandising opportunities.
Chris Protheroe, MD of the RFU’s commercial partner, Copyright Promotions Sports, said: “The use of the RFU’s new Twickenham branding is yet another innovative and exciting way licensees can extend their relationship with the Rugby Football Union. The new brand offers further branding opportunities and a means of reaching out to new customers.”
Paul Vaughan, director of business operations at RFU, added: “Twickenham is becoming a world class venue for more than just rugby; a place of entertainment, shopping, corporate hospitality, leisure facilities and first rate accommodation.”
