Harrods has launched the UK's first Disney branded café in time for Christmas.
The café features adults and children's menus, devised by Harrods Executive Chef Duccio Orlandini, in close collaboration with Disney. These include Mickey-shaped toasties and ravioli, soups, salads, sandwiches and other hot dishes, as well as seasonal fresh fruit, a Knickerbocker Glory, and afternoon tea, consisting of sandwiches and cakes.
The 100-seat restaurant is situated on Harrods' fourth floor and is next to the retailer's pop-up Disney boutique, which opened in October.
When the Big Ben centrepiece chimes twice each hour, it’s time for a countdown to a classic Disney story. Other features include life-size sculptures of Disney characters and screens around the restaurant playing Disney and Disney/Pixar movies such as Cars and Toy Story.
The café is open from Monday to Saturday 11am to 7pm. On Sundays it is open from 11.30am to 6pm. It is closed on Christmas Day.
"We are delighted to be collaborating with Disney on what promises to be an exciting and unique family dining experience," said Paul Goodale, Director of Restaurants and Kitchens at Harrods.
"It is a pleasure to be working with such an illustrious partner as Disney, whose enchanting stories have captured imaginations for generations."
Anna Hill, CMO of The Walt Disney Company UK & Ireland, added: "Disney is committed to creating fun and imaginative experiences for families to enjoy together, and we’ve worked closely with Harrods to ensure that the café encapsulates the magic of Disney and the quality for which both brands are renowned."
