Demand for Underground Toys' Star Wars Talking Plush has meant that stock is now all but sold out this Christmas. Sales are now four times the forecasted demand in the firm's three key territories – UK, USA and France.

A spokesperson for Underground said: “The original plan was to stock the products for re-order right through Christmas and into the New Year. But, all of our inventory was sold out by the second week of November. Our new plan is to air freight more Star Wars plush stock (including some new SKUs) in February 2011 to fulfil demand.

"Key customers around the world include Toys R Us, FNAC, Tesco, Wilkinsons, Hot Topic, Halfords and HMV and most are making their plans now to support the line next year –this should make inventory planning in 2011 much easier.

"We also have interest from many new accounts and territories such as South Africa, Canada, Belgium & Holland. We think now that people have seen the quality of our plush in store (and the fact that they are selling out) it has fired up the demand for 2011, from many buyers."

Many of Underground Toys’ new plush products from various properties, will be on show via its UK distributor, Gear 4 Games, at Toy Fair (stand E160).

New plush licences for 2011 include Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon, Ghostbusters and at least one other major entertainment licence, which will be announced just before Toy Fair. Underground will also be showing in Hong Kong, Nuremberg and New York in 2011.
