US firm The Currier and Ives Foundation has named Arabella Enterprises as its new North American licensing agent.

Known for holding one of America’s largest archives, dating back to the 1800s, the company boasts homestead scenes from the nineteenth century.

“When you think of Currier and Ives, a vision of yesteryear comes to mind – snow covered hills and sleighs and cozy homesteads conjure up a feeling of warmth and of a simpler life that cherishes home and family,” said Kim Winkeleer, principal of Arabella Enterprises.

“Our plan is to create a lifestyle brand for the home that’s inspired by the nostalgic feelings evoked by this iconic brand.”

The Currier and Ives Foundation has various categories available for licensing, including social expressions, dinnerware, glassware, table linens, home decorative accessories, woven throws and pillows, home fragrance, candles and framed prints.

Scott Currier, curator of the Currier and Ives Foundation, added: “I’m pleased to be working with Arabella Enterprises to expand the reach of the Currier and Ives brand into homes across the country.

“The income generated by licensing will go to support the Foundation in its continued efforts to provide historic images to both public and private K-12 art and history programs, and also to share period images with media publishers to further their educational outreach.”
