US: Classic Media rolls out seasonal portfolio

New deals mark start of licensing programmes for iconic holiday brands.

Classic Media announced today it will launch new consumer products programmes for its seasonal portfolio: Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town, an original Christmas classic; Casper the Friendly Ghost, the official Ambassador of Halloween and #1 Chief Easter Bunny, Peter Cottontail.

Apparel company M. Hidary and packaged goods firm Signature Brands will begin the ranges with new merchandise based on the seasonal portfolio in 2009.

New Christmas ornaments and decorations from Kurt Adler and Round 2 also debut this year, with all lines based on updated creative assets and style guides.

M. Hidary will debut new light-up and non light-up children’s apparel based on in time for Halloween 2009 at mass-market. Additionally, popcorn in seasonally-branded collectible tins will launch from Signature Brands for Holiday 2009.

A new line of ornaments and decor from leading holiday supplier Kurt Adler based on Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town will also debut this year, including resin, blow-mold and glass decorations, stockings, table-top products, and picture frames.

The Little Drummer Boy joins the Christmas line-up with nativity sets and figurines from collectibles company Round 2, launching at specialty toy stores in 2009.
