US: Corus restructures kids business

New management structure now in place to boost firm's advantage as content producer and broadcaster.

Following a reorganisation of the structure of its kids business last year, Corus has now revealed several key management changes in order for it to push through its advantage as a player in both content production and distribution.

In terms of licensing, the main move is that of Mark Northwood becoming vice president of worldwide licensing, responsible for the global merchandise licensing business through core brands such as Babar, Bakugan and The Backyardigans.

He is also charged with building opportunities for new properties.

Other changes include Dale Hancocks becoming senior VP, operations and associate general counsel for Corus Kids and Nelvana Enterprises; Jocelyn Hamilton as VP, programming and production; Colin Bohm as VP and MD of Nelvana Enterprises; Lynn Chadwick as VP of worldwide sales and distribution; Peter Maule becoming VP of worldwide home entertainment and digital media; Laura Baehr expanding her role to VP of marketing for Corus Kids and Nelvana Enterprises; Irene Weibel becoming VP of international development; John Cvecich becoming director of Treehouse; and Jane Harrison assuming responsibility for all legal affairs within the Corus Kids organisation.
