Paul Frank Industries has granted exclusive global licensing rights of the Paul Frank brand to brand management firm Creata as it looks to push into new product categories.

The two companies will concentrate on the brand's core strengths first and roll out licensing partnerships in categories that Paul Frank currently services. Creata will then be responsible for seeking licensing opportunities in diversified brand extensions.

The ongoing roll out of Paul Frank retail stores will also continue.

"From humble and entrepreneurial beginnings, Paul Frank Industries has reached a level of status and opportunity that far exceeds its current operations," said Mossimo Giannulli, co owner of Paul Frank Industries.

"Creata has a proven track record in licensing and promotions that is unmatched in brand development. I'm excited about growing and fully maximising the potential of our emerging and iconic brand."

Geoff Rosenheim, COO of Creata, added: "Paul Frank is a universally appealing brand that transcends age, race, gender and borders. Offering a unique balance of mid-century modern design aesthetics and a wealth of loveable icons like Julius, the brand has become an important part of pop culture.

"Creata's experience in protecting, building and developing global brands combined with Paul Frank Industries' expertise in the savvy youth marketplace is an exciting and undeniable opportunity for everyone involved."
