Global Pursuit, a consumer products licensing, marketing and brand equity company, has signed a deal with Cuipo to become the exclusive licensing agent for the lifestyle and rainforest preservation brand.
The partnership will see Global Pursuit represent Cuipo the US and Asian territories including Greater China, South Korea, Southeast Asia and India.
As a brand, Cuipo is dedicated to saving the rainforest and for every Cuipo product purchased at retail or online, consumers can enter a produce code at the company’s website, www.cuipo.org, which is redeemed toward the preservation of a meter of rainforest.
Every square meter saved through the purchase and redemption of a Cuipo product is then donated to One Meter at a Time, a 501 non-profit foundation dedicated to safeguarding and preserving each square meter of rainforest in perpetuity.
“The founders of Cuipo devised an incredible model that combines good corporate citizenry, eco-friendly product lines that offer strong consumer appeal and an opportunity to reduce the carbon footprint of companies and individuals in such a way as to protect and preserve natural resources for generations to come,” said Cynthia Money, Global Pursuit president.
“We look forward to developing a comprehensive licensing program for Cuipo and are eager to introduce the Cuipo brand to potential sponsors and licensees in the U.S. and territories throughout Asia.”
Cuipo is currently made up of three sub-brands. Cuipo Water is a bottled water brand, Cuipo Roots is an apparel and accessories line and Cuipo Kids is premium children’s apparel and accessories line.
“Global Pursuit understands that Cuipo is about more than just saving the rainforest. It’s about creating the cultural and social movement to make a change,” added John Oswald, Cuipo president and co-founder.
“Besides saving a minimum of one square meter of rainforest with every purchase of every product we sell, our partners are showing record sell through because of the quality and originality of our cause, proving that today’s consumers have a vested interest in purchasing products that ultimately help save the planet both environmentally and socially.”
Cuipo has developed over 70 licensed categories and, in the past, has collaborated with the Surfrider Foundation, INT Surfboards, Panda Bamboo Bicycles, Prints on Wood, Ubiquity Records and Nirve Bicycles.
The company has also partnered with the indigenous Kuna of Panama to create an assortment of handmade goods using artful techniques specific to ancient Kuna culture.
Through a campaign titled Project Good Hands, the Kuna of Ubkisukun are able to provide income for their families by making handmade Cuipo beaded bracelets which can then be purchased on the Cuipo site.
