US: Hasbro teams with Target for My Little Pony promo

An exclusive promotion for Hasbro's My Little Pony has kicked off in Target stores across the US.

Premium space in the toy department has been devoted to My Little Pony merchandise, all inspired by the world of Canterlot from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, which is currently airing on The Hub.

Products available in the section include bedding, costumes, books, t-shirts, arts and crafts, activity sets and exclusive toys, with the primary focus on three ponies: Princess Celestia, Princess Luna and Twilight Sparkle.

"Canterlot at Target is a showcase example of how Hasbro reinvents our brands and works with retailers and licensees to create innovative and meaningful connections with consumers," said Ira Hernowitz, SVP, US marketing at Hasbro.

Stephanie Lucy, VP of merchandising at Target, added: "We expect Target's exclusive merchandise will have My Little Pony followers mesmerised."
