New Line Cinema has signed up Mezco Toyz as master toy licensee for its House of Horror brand, which features iconic characters from the Friday the 13th, Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Nightmare on Elm Street film series.
The new lines - which will be showcased at Toy Fair in New York from February 17th-20th - will include branded dioramas of terrifying scenes from all three movie franchises; seven-inch collectible action figures; 12-inch collectible figures with fabric clothing; nine-inch scale stylised vinyl figures and the first ever House of Horror plush toys.
Classic characters Freddy Krueger, Jason Voorhees and Leatherface will all be included in the range, as well as characters and scenes that may be fan favourites but until now have not been represented in a toy range.
"Mezco has really delivered on the fans' wish list with this toy program," said David Imhoff, senior executive VP of worldwide licensing and merchandising at New Line. "These film series have always been about more than just Freddy, Jason and Leatherface in their trademark costumes.
"Mezco's broad product range celebrates that."
In 2009, New Line Cinema will celebrate the 25th anniversary of A Nightmare on Elm Street and the 35th anniversary of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. In addition, the studio will release a reinvention of Friday the 13th, which starts production this year.
