LIMA has announced the nominees for this year's International Licensing Excellence Awards.
The gongs will be presented in seven categories at the LIMA Gala and Awards ceremony held on June 11th at the Sheraton New York Hotel & Towers, during the Licensing International expo.
The categories are Art, Character, Corporate, Sports, Retailer, Promotions and Film, Television and Entertainment, as well as the Overall Best Licence of the Year.
In addition to acknowledging the Best Program of the Year within each category, awards will be presented for the Best Licensee Hard Goods and Best Licensee Soft Goods.
"The International Licensing Excellence Awards are the coveted prize and a recognised symbol of success in the licensing industry," said Charles Riotto, president of LIMA.
Some of the nomination highlights include Andy Warhol (Beanstalk) in the Art category; Strawberry Shortcake dolls and play-sets (Playmates) in Best Character Brand Licence (Hard Goods); American Idol (Fremantle), High School Musical 2 (Disney) and The Simpsons (Fox) in the Film, Entertainment and TV sector; and Coca Cola, ESPN, HSM2 (Disney) and Andy Warhol (Beanstalk) in Overall Best Licensed Program.
