US: Nickelodeon unveils 'strongest toy portfolio ever'

Playmates, Jakks, Fisher-Price, Lego and Spin Master showcasing new lines at Toy Fair.

Nickelodeon and its licensees will be unveiling a plethora of new products at this week's US Toy Fair for both new and established brands.

Kicking off with Playmates Toys, the firm will show a new line of toys inspired by the CG-animated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series, which is due to premiere in autumn 2012. The line-up will include basic, deluxe and collectable action figures, as well as Ninja gear, play-sets and vehicles.

Meanwhile, Jakks Pacific and its Creative Designs International and Disguise Halloween divisions will debut a new line of dolls, play-sets, accessories, dress up, role play and Halloween costumes based on Winx Club. The lines are due to debut in autumn 2012 to coincide with the premiere of the new CGI episodes of the show on Nickelodeon.

Moving on, and Nickelodeon and Fisher-Price will introduce fresh lines for pre-school shows Team Umizoomi and Dora the Explorer. The first toy line for Team Umizoomi, products will include figures, basic and learning plush, bath toys and vehicles. New Dora products, meanwhile, will include a dollhouse, play-sets, dolls and role play toys among others.

Spongebob Squarepants is the inspiration for new toys from Fisher-Price's Imaginext brand. The line includes play-sets, vehicles and figures. The character will also feature in two new building sets from Lego, which make their debut at Toy Fair.

Finally, Victorious master toy licensee, Spin Master, will unveil new products for the live action comedy series. The 2012 offerings will expand on the success of the firm's first Victorious toy launch in October 2011 and will feature fashion dolls and role play, including a new Tori Singing Doll. Feature dolls for additional characters are also included.
