Production firm RDF USA is developing online and mobile games for Don't Forget the Lyrics and The Two Coreys.
The company views the move as a natural extension of the brands. The online game for Don't Forget the Lyrics will be based on the show. with players having to know the missing lyrics to songs. However, whereas the show contestant must climb a ladder of ten songs, the online game only has seven.
Regardless of the answer being correct, each player is also given the opportunity to upload a video of themselves singing. That is then sent to producers for a chance to appear as a contestant on the TV show and a shot at winning a million dollars.
"This is a natural extension for us as we continue to explore ways to maximise the value of our show brands," said Max Benator, head of digital media for RDF USA. "Any production company that wants to survive in this changing media landscape should be creating for as many platforms as possible - and I'm glad we're finding successes in doing that."
RDF USA is also creating a mobile game for The Two Coreys. A second season of the series is currently being shot in LA and is likely to begin airing in the spring.
