US: Shout Factory and Hasbro Studios team for new My Little Pony film

Shout Factory and Hasbro Studios and signed a worldwide distribution deal for upcoming animated movie, My Little Pony Equestria Girls.

The new feature-length animation is aiming to introduce a new dimension into the My Little Pony world. The plot follows Twilight Sparkle, who pursues the thief of a crown from the Crystal Empire into an alternate world where she transforms into a teenage girl who must survive her biggest challenge yet... high school.

My Little Pony Equestria Girls is set to hit the home entertainment marketplace and a variety of digital entertainment platforms in North America and international territories later this year.

"The My Little Pony brand is a global sensation and continues to captivate fans of all ages worldwide," said the founders of Shout Factory, Richard Foos, Bob Emmer and Garson Foos. "The My Little Pony home entertainment product line has been one of our top drivers on family home entertainment shelves.
