This year's Surtex art and design expo has been hailed a success - with the organiser citing a diverse range of original art and a powerhouse conference program for a ten per cent increase in attendance.
In total, some 5,200 art buyers and licensees went through the doors of New York's Jacob K Javits Convention Center to see over 300 exhibitors.
Attendance saw particular growth in the home furnishings, paper-related and giftware categories. The exhibitor base included 92 first time companies, as well as 83 exhibitors from 13 countries outside the US.
The conference programme, meanwhile, attracted nearly 550 attendees for a total of nine seminars organised into three tracks: Business, Licensing and Trends.
"As the annual event for the international art and design industry, Surtex provided a vital, upbeat and unique market to the commercial design and art and licensing sectors," said Gina DeLuca, show manager. "With the best resources from around the world, the show floors were abuzz with energy, and business deals being conducted by leading manufacturers in all product categories."
Next year's Surtex will take place between May 17th and 19th at the Javits. Click here to find out more.
