US retailer Target is gearing up for the release of The Amazing Spider-Man with a host of in-store and online activity.
A microsite at Target.com/spiderman is selling the entire Target Spider-Man range, while in-stores there are interactive Spider-Man floor graphics and displays of the hero perched on top of city buildings, while spider webs hang from the ceiling.
“There is no doubt that our guests will get caught up in the excitement and adventure of Spider-Man when they swing into Target this summer,” said Casey Carl, Target’s senior vice president of merchandising and president of multi-channel.
“Our partnership with Marvel furthers our commitment to offering must-have merchandise for the hottest entertainment titles – like this summer’s ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ – and being the ultimate fan destination.”
Target is promoting the Spidey activity with a special commercial showing a boy donning Target Spider-Man gear and accessories while scaling a building, viewable at the microsite.
