VEGAS 09: 9 Story launches Survive This campaign

Firm's agency, The Licensing Shop, seeks licensing partners to coincide with US premiere of kids reality series.

The series, which is 12 x 22-minutes plus one hour finale, is scheduled to debut in June on Cartoon Network US and is currently broadcast on Canada’s YTV.

“This new series represents an incredible opportunity for potential licensees and retailers,” said 9 Story executive vice president of Business Development, Natalie Osborne.

“We’ve had a tremendous amount of interest before the pickup from Cartoon Network and now that they are on-board, all signs point to Survive This becoming a big breakout hit.”

Capitalizing on the show’s bold theme, the initial categories where partners are being sought include board games, book clubs, fairs, video games, role play activities and apparel.

Survive This, is created by production and distribution company, 9 Story Entertainment and wilderness survival expert and filmmaker, Les Stroud, and is commissioned by YTV, Canada.

The show is an adventure series that challenges teenagers to push their limits, overcome fears and develop lifelong survival skills. Eight teens, aged 14 to 17, are thrust into various survival challenges over the course of the 13-episode season.

“The challenges these teenagers face are riveting from episode one,” said Nancy Fowler, The Licensing Shop.

“We anticipate an overwhelmingly positive response from the viewers, who will look for licensed product to show their enthusiasm and to extend their Survive This experience.”
