The firm secured the deal yesterday at the Licensing International Expo to represent the new kids’ television property.
The deal adds to an already successful relationship between the companies as FME represents and has secured licensing deals in publishing, apparel and beauty for H2O: Just Add Water on behalf of ZDF.
FME will be managing the licensing program in Eastern/Central/Southern Europe across key categories including publishing, retail, apparel, beauty, confectionary, accessories, and interactive.
The Elephant Princess is a 26 x 26 minute fantasy programme produced by multi-award winning Australian producer Jonathan M Shiff. The series premiered in Germany on ZDF and Kika in May 2009.
Diana Dieckmann, vice president of licensing, for Fremantle Licensing Germany commented on the deal: “I’m really looking forward to working even more with ZDF Enterprises and to expanding our portfolio of children’s titles following our recent successes in this genre. The Elephant Princess is a fantastic show with many licensing opportunities.”
Sylvia Brucker, director of merchandising of ZDF Enterprises added: “We are delighted to further strengthen our partnership with FremantleMedia Enterprises. We are convinced that The Elephant Princess will follow in the successful footsteps of H2O: Just Add Water.”
