VEGAS 2010: Nelvana boosts Babar and Max & Ruby

Host of new broadcasting and licensing deals secured for animated properties.

Nelvana will be arriving at Licensing International next week ready to unveil a raft of new broadcast and licensing deals for Babar and Max & Ruby.

New broadcasters signed up for Babar and The Adventures of Badou include Playhouse Disney Japan, ABC TV Australia, TV New Zealand, TV2 Norway, YLE 2 Finland, DR TV Denmark, Thai PBS and SRC for French Canada.

Licensing agent TF1 has also signed a number of deals in France including Lansay for toys, Sun City for apparel and accessories, CTI for bed linen and Viquel for back to school and stationery.

Meanwhile, new products in the US for Max & Ruby include books from Penguin and Key Porter, exclusive themed merchandise from Toys R Us Times Square and plush/puzzles at Barnes & Noble.

A new live stage show from KOBA Entertainment is due to debut in Canada this September and a QSR promotion is planned for Q1 2011.

New licensees in the US include Sara Max (sleepwear), Bakery Crafts (cake decorations), Core Velocity (novelty foil packs) and Kellytoy (crane and amusement toys).



Founded in 1971, Nelvana is made up of two divisions. Nelvana Studios develops and produces animated content from its production facility in Toronto.
