ITV Studios Global Entertainment has used Licensing International to reveal the two latest additions to its line-up.
First up, the company is to represent 3D CG animation, Matt Hatter Chronicles in the UK, Eire, Australia and New Zealand. The deal with Platinum Films covers merchandising, publishing, promotional and home entertainment rights.
"Matt Hatter Chronicles combines cutting edge 3D animation, cinematic production values and exciting storytelling in a pulse-pounding comedy adventure, designed to appeal to the hero in is all," said Jean-Philippe Randisi, EVP and director of consumer products at ITV. "We are very excited to be representing this unique property and look forward to bringing it to the market."
In addition, ITV has also snapped up the UK rights for classic pre-school brand, Babar. The multi-year deal with Nelvana and The Clifford Ross Company will see the firm represent the property across merchandising and licensing rights.
In line with Babar's 80th birthday, ITVS GE's initial product ranges will focus on the brand's vintage artwork. It will initially target the pre-school, nursery and gifting categories, with a focus on reigniting the nostalgic Babar style in the UK market.
Randisi added: "We are very excited to be representing this classic property. Babar's enduring values of kindness to others, safe adventures and the importance of sharing stories with family are as relevant today as they were 80 years ago, and this fantastic heritage is an ideal platform to reintroduce the brand to the UK market."
