Fremantle Media Kids and Family Entertainment has signed Vivid Toy Group as the master toy licensee for its comedy adventure series Strange Hill High.

Vivid will manufacture and distribute a range of toys based on the show, including figures, play-sets and plush.

The first products will launch in the UK in spring 2014.

Furthermore, five additional licensees have picked up the brand for core categories.

Fashion UK has signed for apparel, Character World for bedding and bedroom accessories, Kinnerton for confectionary, Blueprint for stationery and Danilo for greeting cards and calendars.

The new deals follow the success of the show's debut on CBBC six weeks ago and the announcement that the channel has commissioned a further 13 episodes.

Pindy O’Brien, VP brand licensing and retail, FremantleMedia Kids & Family Entertainment UK, said: “Vivid Toy Group has fantastic form in creating innovative and successful toy ranges and we’re really looking forward to working with them on translating the on-screen quirkiness of this daring and distinctive new programme into exciting and engaging toys.

"Strange Hill High has had a fantastic TV launch and now with Vivid and a stable of other licensing partners it’s definitely a brand to watch.”

Neil Bandtock, managing director of Vivid, said: "We love Strange Hill High. The quirky, fun and irreverent attitude shown in the TV series is exactly what we intend to mirror in the master toy line we will launch across Europe.

"FremantleMedia has a great track record in this area already, and the amazing viewing figures being achieved on CBBC already, show just how big this property is."
