ITV Studios Global Entertainment has acquired the licensing rights for hit TV drama, Poldark.
Poldark aired on BBC1 in the UK, attracting an average of 7.7 million viewers across the first five episodes, and has been recommissioned for a second series.
Looking to build on the success, ITVS GE is now readying a dedicated consumer products programme. It is currently seeking licensing partners in key categories including apparel and accessories, homewares, gifting, stationery and personal care.
Merchandise will target the female adult market, with a secondary audience of gift buyers and men.
Danilo is already signed up to produce a calendar inspired by the series.
"Since its debut, Poldark has become one of the most talked about new TV shows in recent times and star Aiden Turner has set pulses racing in the UK," said Trudi Hayward, SVP head of global merchandising at ITVS GE. "It promises to be a really exciting new property.
"With a confirmed second series and partners already coming on board, we're committed to harnessing the strong commercial potential of the brand with licensing collaborations that target the show's growing fanbase."
