VEGAS 2015: Thunderbirds leads licensing charge for ITVS GE

ITV returns to the Las Vegas event next week to forge new global partnerships for Playmobil, Thunderbirds Are Go, Super 4 and Cut the Rope.

Thunderbirds, Playmobil and The Village People will be leading the charge for ITV Studios Global Entertainment as the firm heads to this year’s Licensing Expo.

The company is returning to the Las Vegas event next week in order to forge new global partnerships for its roster of popular brands that also includes Super 4 and Cut the Rope.

A particular focus for the firm will be the Thunderbirds Are Go property that has already seen a strong global response since it launched to TV.

“We are delighted to once again be heading to the Licensing Expo with such a strong and diverse line up of properties,” said Trudi Hayward, SVP, head of global merchandising for ITV Studios Global Entertianment.

“Thunderbirds Are Go has had a fantastic response since its broadcast debut. The show has already gained a strong foothold in a number of territories and while at Licensing Expo 2015, we’ll be looking to build on that momentum to create new international opportunities.”

ITVS GE has already secured a raft of top tier licensing partners in the UK and Eire for Thunderbirds Are Go with products poised to launch at retail from Q3 of 2015.

The firm is now looking to add new product ranges to existing categories and is in talks with partners for Thunderbirds Are Go console games.

Meanwhile, ITV is looking to push the Classic Thunderbirds brand with the addition of fashion, mass market gifting and humour to the licensing programme for 2016.

Elsewhere, an extended licensing programme for the popular toy brand Playmobil will be led by apparel, gifting and stationery categories, as well as publishing, promotions and events.

Finally, The Village People is gearing up for its 40th anniversary in 2017 and ITVS GE is looking to ramp up its activity in the licensing arena with new apparel ranges, gifting categories and promotions for mass market retail from 2016 onwards.
