Paramount Licensing and its partner MINDstyle have unveiled a 'vinyl art' toy collectible based on Don Corleone from The Godfather.
The eight-inch tall marionette-styled figurine (12-inch with strings fully extended) was shown at a special travelling art exhibit yesterday (Sunday July 19th) at De La Barracuda Gallery in Los Angeles. It was a part of the Family Tradition exhibit based on The Godfather.
Created by lead artist Michael Lau, the collectible will also be on show at the upcoming Comic-Con in San Diego.
The original version of the marionette costs $175 and comes packaged in a limited edition deluxe gift box with a certificate of authenticity hand signed by Lau and MINDstyle, an individually numbered collector card and Family Tradition postcard set. Only 300 of the limited edition sets will be sold worldwide.
In addition, two alternative colours of the original Godfather version will be available from select urban art collectible retailers, comic book stores and online outlets.
MINDstyle is due to follow up with a classic Godfather figure and a still under wraps additional figure, both designed by Lau and due in the autumn.
