Voting opens for LIMA International Licensing Awards

Industry urged to get behind British nominees as online voting kicks off.

Online voting has opened for the LIMA International Licensing Excellence Awards - with British companies once again at the forefront of nominations.

2011 saw two UK winners, with Boots named Best Retailer of the Year for Strictly Come Dancing, while the V&A Museum won Best Art and Design programme.

The nine UK nominees for the 2012 awards are:

V&A Museum/V&A Enterprises
- Best Art or Design Programme
Navigate - Best Art or Design Licensee
Mind Candy - Best Character or Toy Brand Programme
Global Merchandising Services/Rights Management International (One Direction) - Best Film, TV, Celebrity or Entertainment Programme
Entertainment One (Peppa Pig) - Best Film, TV, Celebrity or Entertainment Programme
Redan Publishing (Peppa Pig) - Best Film, TV, Celebrity or Entertainment Programme, Hard Goods
St Andrews Links/CPLG - Best Sports or Sports-themed Entertainment Programme
Topps International - Best Sports or Sports-themed Entertainment Licensee, Hard Goods
Boots (Hello Kitty) - Best Retailer

Winners will be reveaked at the LIMA Opening Night Awards Ceremony at Licensing International Expo in Las Vegas on June 12th.

Voting is open to members of LIMA and is limited to one vote per company. The deadline is Thursday May 17th.

All voting will take place online and to cast your vote simply visit www.licensing.org and sign in.

"This year Britain is second only to the US in terms of the number of companies from a single country to be nominated for these esteemed awards, reflecting their international aspect," said Kelvyn Gardner, LIMA UK MD. "I urge all LIMA UK members to vote - don't lose your vote, make your voices heard so that all the winners reflect your views of the international licensing marketplace."
