Nick Jr's Dora the Explorer Vtech TV Globe has won the Toy of the Year 2007 award in the 0-4 age category at the Toy of the Year Awards in the Netherlands.

The product garnered more than 15,000 votes from the Dutch public in the run-up to the 34th anniversary of the awards, which was presided over by a professional jury.

The TV Globe takes kids on an adventure with characters Dora and Boots to explore the world, teaching children such skills as counting, reading, understanding letters, numbers, animals and English through every day play.

The original voices of the characters from the TV show accompany children on their journey.

"Since the arrival of the Nickelodeon channel in the Netherlands and Belgium, NVCP has been working with licensing agent Copyright Promotions on a carefully selected range of licensed products for the channel's most popular series in this region," said Jeannine Lafebre, licensing director at NVCP Benelux.

"In putting together the range, we seek to work with both national and international producers. Vtech is one of those international partners. We are tremendously proud of the fact that one of their latest products has been voted Toy of the Year."
