Walker Books unveils new Walker Entertainment imprint

From spring 2014, Walker Books will be grouping all media-related and media-inspired publishing - including TV and film tie in titles and celebrity publishing - under the new imprint of Walker Entertainment.

The new imprint - which will be known as Candlewick Entertainment in the US, with Australia carrying both lines - will report to Helen McAleer, head of Walker Group's new global Rights and Development division.

The first addition will be Mossy Bottom Farm, following a deal with Aardman Animations. The fiction titles will be based on Shaun the Sheep.

Walker's existing media-related brands such as Abney & Teal will also migrate to Walker Entertainment, while all Walker Productions projects will also become part of the new imprint. These include the Tilly and Friends TV tie in books based on the Cbeebies series.

The launch line-up will include new titles from both these brands, as well as four tie in editions of the Hank Zipzer novels, originally published by Walker Books, to coincide with the CBBC show.
