Aardman Animations has revealed that Wallace and Gromit are coming to Pleasure Beach Blackpool.
The classic characters will be part of a new family ride - Wallace and Gromit's Thrill-O-Matic - which will take fans on a trip through A Grand Day Out, visit The Wrong Trousers, take A Close Shave and deal with A Matter of Loaf and Death.
The £5 million attraction will exit through a shop where visitors can buy exclusive Wallace and Gromit merchandise. This will include a bespoke Thrill-O-Matic line, as well as a selection of existing products.
Aardman has been working closely with the Pleasure Beach design and engineering team on the four-minute ride, which takes in dozens of scenes from the duo's films.
"We are really enjoying working with the Pleasure Beach team on this new ride and new format for Wallace and Gromit and can't wait to get started on building all the props and set pieces," said Nick Park, creator of Wallace and Gromit.
Special hoardings featuring Wallace and Gromit are due to be erected at the site of Thrill-O-Matic, with the ride due to open in 2013.
Amanda Thompson OBE, Pleasure Beach MD, added: "Thrill-O-Matic represents a significant investment in the park and we know the characters will be a huge hit with the families who come and visit Pleasure Beach."
