Today at the annual Bologna Children's Book Fair, Warner Bros. Consumer Products announced a deal which will see it become sole licensor for DC Entertainment's publishing business.
The agreement will see WBCP licence storybooks, novelisations, chapter books, readers, colouring, activity and sticker books, how-to-draw books and educational books.
DC will continue to handle worldwide subsidiary rights for their bestselling comic books and acclaimed graphic novels.
Heroes like Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman will now join WBCP’s impressive list of existing properties, including Harry Potter, Looney Tunes, Scooby-Doo, Tom and Jerry and Happy Feet.
"Many of our top properties already enjoy a major presence in the licensed publishing world and we are eager to work with the very best in the business in order to further expand DC's consumer offerings in this category" said Karen McTier, executive VP of domestic licensing and worldwide marketing for Warner Bros. Consumer Products.
