Warner Bros. has hired the writing duo behind X-Men: First Class to pen the studio’s Looney Tunes-inspired movie.

Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz have joined the team to work on the as yet untitled Acme project, while Crazy Stupid Love directors, Glenn Ficarra and John Requa are tipped to helm the film.

Plot details are being kept under wraps but Hollywood Reporter reveals that the Acme movie will not centre on the Looney Tunes characters themselves, but the fictional manufacturer of the products often used by them, Acme Corporation.

So, with a mix of CG and live action, the film is to be rooted in Warner’s classic Looney Tunes cartoons, such as Road Runner and Wile E. Coyote.

Comedian and actor, Steve Carrel is also tipped to be starring in the project that has been in development since 2010.
