Universal Pictures Digital Platforms Group (UPDPG) is creating a video game based on blockbuster action thriller Wanted, starring James McAvoy, Angelina Jolie and Morgan Freeman.

The game will be published worldwide by Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment and is being developed by GRIN, probably best known for its work on the Tom Clancy: Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter series.

The game will feature 'intense' third person action, using combat moves seen in the film, such as 'curving bullets' and 'Assassin Time'. The storyline will pick up where the film left off.

"Wanted is a striking property with gripping action, which presents strong gaming possibilities," said Martin Tremblay, president of Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment. "Publishing the Wanted game is an excellent opportunity for WBIE to team with Universal on a global property with terrific cross-platform potential."

Bill Kispert, VP and general manager interactive of UPDPG, added: "Wanted is a film with a fantastic visual style, an in-your-face attitude and edge of your seat action sequences, and movie goers around the world have resoundingly embraced it."

Wanted hit the box office on June 27th and has earned $192 million worldwide to date.
