Warner Bros International Television Distribution is to launch a number of branded, video on demand, non-linear channels over a variety of delivery platforms in several territories.
The new channels will be called Warner TV and will build upon the successful linear Warner Channel which has been operating in Latin America for over ten years.
The aim of the initiative is to create Warner Bros branded entertainment destinations that will provide consumers with on-demand access to some of the studio's programming.
In the UK, Warner TV is on Virgin Media's digital cable platform and on BT's IPTV television platform. It already features shows such as The West Wing (pictured), Nip/Tuck, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, The OC, Joey and Babylon 5. The likes of ER, Friends, Two and a Half Men, Smallville and Supernatural are amongst those due to be added soon.
"We're thrilled to launch Warner TV in the UK with Virgin and BT as our valued partners in bringing this new branded entertainment service to UK consumers," said Jeffrey Schlesinger, president of WBIT.
Warner TV has already debuted in Japan and France.
