Nok Tok, De Li, Lau Lau and Yojojo will return to CBeebies in another series of Waybuloo, Zodiak Kids announced today.
The new episodes will introduce children to the Piplings’ homes, each decorated to reflect their individual personalities. The recipe of live action mixed with animated characters remains.
According to BARB, Waybuloo is the number one show for 4 to 6 year olds and figures from this March revealed an audience share year-on-year growth of 60 per cent.
Licence-wise, Fisher Price have sold nearly 1 million Waybuloo units, while the brand was the number one plush license over 2010, according to NPD. Publisher Egmont reported record sales for Waybuloo branded pre-school books.
The Piplings have also enjoyed success overseas, airing in over 80 countries, with international licensing programmes in the works.
Maria Sze, brand director for Zodiak Kids was encouraged by the progress, she said: “Retail response continues to exceed all expectations and we are excited to be working with new licensees this year to launch more products to build on the success to date.”
