Warner Bros Consumer Products has inked a multi-territory deal with Aegis Vision for DC Comics branded mobile phone covers.
The product launch will be lead by Superman-branded skins, designed for iPhone 4 and Blackberry. The range will be available exclusively from O2 stories nationwide this Christmas.
A showcase will be set up on the O2 website, with dedicated promotional pages due to go live in November.
Aegis already works with a number of high profile brands including Lulu Guinness and Ed Hardy, although the deal with DC Comics marks its first foray into entertainment licensing.
Under the terms of the deal, Aegis has the rights to distribute products in the UK and Ireland, Germany and Austria, Turkey, Nordic, Greece and Cyprus and South Africa.
"Our newly appointed licensing deal with Warner Bros Consumer Products has given us a platform to create an exciting product line to present to the consumer," said Sanjay Agarwal, CEO at Aegis Vision. "Superman is a well respected brand with a dedicated fan base.
"We welcome the opportunity to produce mobile protection solutions and moving forward to develop our DC Comics product range in the future."
Paul Bufton, general manager at WBCP UK, added: "Aegis Vision's product range maximises DC Comics appeal to superhero fans and also the brands natural synergy with consumer technology. We welcome Aegis into the WBCP fold and look forward to helping them realise their vision for their DC Comics licensed product range."
