Wesco is busy planning a new collection of Star Wars licensed product after securing an exclusive deal with Lucas Film.

The company is lining up clocks and watches, iceboxes, torches and USB items, all set within the Star Wars galaxy. Wesco has been working within the licensing business for over 20 years and holds more than 30 licence contracts, distributing extensively throughout the UK.

"After three successful decades, Star Wars has more than proven itself as an enduring brand, with revenue figures that make it one of the most successful franchises of all time," explained Rob Hughes, MD of Wesco.

"We have committed to this licence in the knowledge that the hugely dedicated fan base continues to grow year on year. And with the plans for new TV exposure, the property will be even more firmly fixed on the public radar for the foreseeable future.

"The licence offers us a host of dramatic characters and themes to work with and we have a selection of exciting and innovative products currently in development."

The collection will include an R2D2 USB Hub, a USB powered light sabre glow lamp, a USB powered webcam in the shape of Darth Vader's ship, a light sabre torch and an R2D2 character remote control Whizz Watch amongst others.
