Who is the best British animated character?

The British Animation Awards launches a poll to find the favourite character; Last call for award nominations.

As part of the bi-annual awards ceremony the BAA has launched a poll to find out who the most popular British Animated Character is.

Nominations can be made via the BAA website. The closing date is February 5th, after which a shortlist of nominees will be published in a poll on the BAA website for the public to vote on.

The ceremony will be held on March 15th at the British Film Institute. This time there are new awards up for grabs, including the ‘WOW!’ award for inspirational use of animation, best mixed media children’s series and a BAA sting competition.

The BAA will also recognise achievements in TV adverts with seperate awards for 2D, 3D and stop motion.

The closing date for award nominations is November 30th (apart from the BAA Sting Award and Best Ever British Animated Character).

BAA director Jayne Pilling said: “The last two years have been a successful and innovative but difficult period for British animation and at the BAA’s we’re looking forward to celebrating the very best the UK industry has to offer”.
