Wide Eye spreads its wings

Abbey Home Media signs new publishing deals for its Early Learning Programmes.

Abbey Home Media Group has inked two further international publishing agreements for three of its key properties.

Firstly, German publisher Edition XXL will produce the Wide Eye Early Learning Programme in the territory, while Pioneer LLC will roll out the Wide Eye, Mother Goose and Artyfacts Early Learning Programmes in the Middle East, India and selected Far Eastern markets. Both are scheduled for roll out this year.

The Early Learning Programme is designed to provide pre-school children with support in the ten key areas of learning that a child needs to develop in preparation for formal education. These include listening, language, maths and early manipulative skills. It contains over 40 different multimedia components including books, audio, video, toy and a Parent’s Guide.

Ian Miles, founder of Abbey Home Media Group, said: “These international publishing deals form part of our ongoing strategy for Wide Eye and our other key properties to extend to an even wider pre-school audience and continue to build on the international success of the Early Learning Programmes.”

Wide Eye is now sold internationally in over 30 markets, which includes recent broadcast deals for Northern Europe and Korea, plus increased distribution of the DVD across Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Russia.
