WildBrain gains new head of strategy

DHX Media’s WildBrain has appointed Will Mahmood to the newly created position of head of strategy.

As the company gears up for further growth, Mahmood will work on key projects supporting department heads with strategy development across the firm.

“Will is a highly experienced and respected addition to our team and his appointment underscores our growing capabilities in the kids’ digital space,” said John Robson, MD of WildBrain.

“His expertise, contacts and strategic understanding of the business give us a real edge as we look to implement our ambitious plans.”

Over the course of his time in the industry, Mahmood has also developed digital insights for production companies, properties and broadcasters including Peppa Pig (eOne Family), Octonauts (Silvergate Media), Warner Brothers Kids, Turner, Channel 4 and ITV.

Mahmood added: “WildBrain is in a unique position in the kids’ space. The breadth of brands and partners it works with gives it a privileged view of the YouTube ecosystem and other AVOD platforms. Harnessing the data at our disposal gives the business a unique competitive advantage.
