4Kids Entertainment International has revealed the winners of its Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fashion design contest, held in partnership with leading French fashion school Ecole Supérieure des Arts et techniques de la Mode (ESMOD).
The three winners are Marie Sobieraj, Marie Serroux and Blandine Zins, all of whom are students at the Roubaix branch of the school.
As well as cash prizes, the winners' collections will be exhibited at the Who's Next ready to wear international exhibition, which takes place in Paris in September. The winning designs may also be subsequently taken into production.
"Working with ESMOD on this project has been very exciting and we're extremely impressed by the students' talents in bringing an iconic 80s brand to a contemporary fashion line," said Sandra Vauthier-Cellier, MD of 4Kids. "It's a great way to highlight the enduring nature and distinctive graphic look of this brand in its 25th year and we offer our congratulations to Marie, Blandine and Marie, and a big thank you to all the students who entered the competition."
Third year students at ESMOD's schools in Paris and Roubaix were invited to enter a competition to design a streetwear collection. Each included a long and short sleeve t-shirt, a sweatshirt, a pair of trousers, a pair of shoes and the choice between a belt, a hat or an item of underwear.
