The world’s first Harper’s Bazaar Café is under development in the Middle East.

Inspired by the internationally renowned fashion magazine, the café has been designed as a ‘living embodiment’ of the Harper’s Bazaar brand.

In a deal brokered by IMG Licensing, the café is the result of a partnership between Hearst Magazines International and the US publisher, Marka PJSC, with the first café planned for November 2015.

This will then be followed by a further nine cafes across the Middle East through 2020, offering food, fashion and art all to celebrate the heritage of the magazine.

“The Harper’s Bazaar Café is perfectly aligned with our mission to be the premier retail and hospitality operator in the Middle East,” said Jamal Al Hai, chairman of Marka PJSC. “We have a bold growth strategy and we are committed to introducing new and unique concepts in partnership with leading international brands that reflect and support the Middle East’s rapidly growing stature in the global retail and hospitality landscape.”

Gautam Ranji, Hearst Magazines International senior vice president, added: “Harper’s bazaar Arabia launched in Dubai in 2007, and was immediately embraced by fashion forward readers in the UAE.

“Bazaar is truly global, with a distinct point of view that translates in to a specific lifestyle. The Café will bring that vision to life.”
