The classic Worms franchise has been further boosted with the launch of a new Worms 2: Armageddon update for Apple devices.
The new update features access to leaderboards and friend support via the Game Centre, as well as a special in-app purchase - The Golden Donkey - which can be used as a level skip for 69p.
"This update not only offers gamers a range of exciting features but also provides a fantastic vehicle for advertising," said AT New Media's Simon Kay. "It is this type of release that makes Worms a licensing dream, in that it's a hugely popular digital brand that is constantly revitalised through new content."
The licensing programm for Worms currently includes IGS (GameOn) for collectable plush and plush keyrings; Gaya for Squeezies; Fashion UK for apparel; Bioworld for apparel and accessories; and GB Posters.
New lines due to launch this year include collectable resin figures and dioramas, plus bags, mugs and other accessories.
