Xilam Group sees first half 2018 revenue surge 50 per cent

New productions and its catalogue of popular animated series has helped the French firm build on its 54 per cent increase of the first half of 2017.

The Xilam Group has seen revenue for the first half of the year surge by 50 per cent to €13,866, the French company has posted.

The increase, it cites, represents an excellent performance for the firm as it follows on the heels of growth of 54 per cent in the first half of 2017.

Xilam’s revenue growth has been dominated by new productions, an strand to the business that has increased by 85 per cent over the last year. Meanwhile, its catalogue has grown 16 per cent.

The increase across both has now confirmed Xilam’s position as a major European animation company.

Thanks to its increasing production capacity in recent years, Xilam delivered 37 half hour programmes over half the year, and has completed production of all episodes of the fifth season of Oggy and the cockroaches, Paprika, Magic and If I were an Animal.

Meanwhile, across its catalogue, YouTube income rocketed 73 per cent for the company, driven by almost 1.9 billion video views over the period. This has been attributd largely to Oggy and the Cockroaches and Zig and Sharko.

The Group’s other content has also contributed to sales growth in France, Italy and India, such as the two seasons of The Daltons.

‘Xilam thus confirms its growing ability to create, produce and distribute high-quality animated programmes and market them at an increasingly rapid rate on the world’s largest global broadcasting platforms, providing these programmes, which it fully owns, with an excellent long-term asset value,’ read a statement from the firm.
