Channel 4 has acquired RDF Kids & Family's hit show Yo Gabba Gabba.

The BAFTA award winning live action series will feature as part of the channel's T4 strand and its first 20 x 30-minute series will air later this spring.

"We are delighted Yo Gabba Gabba will be making its UK premier for terrestrial TV with T4," said Henrietta Hurford-Jones, director of international for RDF Kids & Family. "T4 is perfect positioning for this, the hippest kids series, and we look forward to T4 audiences joining the existing worldwide following for the show."

Neil McCallum, head of T4 & Music, added: "We're constantly looking to refresh the T4 schedule with new and exciting programming that will surprise and entertain our audience. Yo Gabba Gabba looks set to do exactly that, as we look to build on its cult status and make it must see T4 viewing."

In addition to Channel 4 and Nick Jr (where it premiered in the UK), RDF has sold Yo Gabba Gabba to more than ten major international territories. Deals include sales to major broadcasters such as ABC Australia, Nick Australia, Treehouse TV in Canada, Disney Channel Latin America, Nickelodeon Asia, Hop TV in Israel, Jetix Netherlands and SABC in South Africa.
