YouTube Kids partners with HarperCollins, Penguin Random House for reading campaign

The #ReadAlong campaign which first ran in June last year will feature unique content from a variety of publishers.

YouTube Kids has announced partnerships with an assortment of publishers for their second annual #ReadAlong campaign.

Four top children's publishers have confirmed their involvement in the campaign HarperCollins, Penguin Random House, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, and National Geographic Kids, who will all be introducing unique content to the video streaming platform. 

HarperCollins will feature book reviews by kids, while Penguin Random House's Brightly Kids channel will be adding to its collection of storybook read-along videos. Elsewhere, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt will offer narrated fairy tales daily throughout the month of June while National Geographic Kids will produce introduce kids to non-fiction through new video content.

The new campaign will run for longer and extend to many non-Western countries in Africa and Southeast Asia, such as Ghana, India, Kenya, Malaysia, Nigeria, Philippines, Singapore, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zimbabwe.

The first #ReadAlong campaign launched in June 2016 and featured similar content from children's publishers and the School of Rock Broadway showrunners.
