Zodiak and Banijay Group complete merger

The new company boasts revenues of around $1billion and has operations in 17 territories to produce entertainment, drama, factual and children’s animation programming.

Banijay Group and Zodiak Media have completed a merger to create what the united firm bills as ‘the world’s largest independent production and distribution group.’

Combined, the company boasts revenues of around $1billion and now has operations in 17 territories to produce entertainment, drama, factual and children’s animation programming.

Some of its biggest properties include The Secret Life of Four Year Olds, Popstars, Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Being Human and more.

The newly created Banijay Group is 73.6 per cent controlled by a company composed of Stephane Courbit’s LOV Group and DeA Communications, with Vivendi owning the remaining 26.2 per cent.

Courbit is named chairman and Marco Basseti has been appointed CEO of Banijay Group.

Both companies; international distribution operations are merging and will be led by Tim Mutimer who has become head of distribution of Banijay Group. The distribution arm will keep the name of Zodiak Rights.
