Zodiak Kids’ new children’s TV show The Ranch will make its debut at the Mipjunior event in Cannes from October 6th to 7th.
It’s a fresh property produced by Tele Images Productions, which is part of Zodiak Kids. It is set to air in France on October 31st on TF1 and was pre-sold earlier this year to additional French broadcasters Teletoon+ and Equidia Life, DeA Kids and Super in Italy and ARD and KI.KA in Germany.
Mipjunior will showcase episodes available to screen for this first time. Zodiak Kids says it is delighted to announce additional early presales of the 26 x 26’ series to NRK Super in Norway and VRT in Belgium. Bridge Rights and TF1 Video have picked up the German and French DVD rights respectively.
A freemium online game inspired by the series will also be launched in Q1 2013 with the support of TF1, Canal +, DeA Kids, the CNC and Media on the broadcasters’ website and on digital devices.
The interactive game is part of a strategy which includes books (Hachette), comics (Casterman), music (Christophe Maé, the 2011 French best-selling artist, has recorded the opening song) and a licensing program to be managed by TF1 Licences in French speaking Europe and Planeta Junior in Italy.
The Ranch depicts the adventures of four teenagers, who share a passion for horse-riding. Zodiak Kids control all TV worldwide rights for the show.
Philippe Alessandri, President of Tele Images Productions, commented: "Horse shows have always proven success in the past and The Ranch could reach an even wider audience by being more gender neutral than other series of the same kind."
