Films like Quartet, Now You See Me and Insidious Chapter 2 helped the distributor to reach the milestone

eOne passes £100m at UK box office in 2013

Independent UK distributor eOne has passed the £100m at the UK box office in 2013, reports Screen.

The milestone makes eOne only the second UK independent distributor ever to pass the £100m mark in the UK in a calendar year, following Entertainment Film Distributors in 2003.

This year has seen eOne strike box office hits with movies including The Impossible, Quartet, Now You See Me, Insidious Chapter 2, Prisoners and Behind The Candelabra.

“Ever since we released our first movie Twilight in December 2008, it’s been an incredible journey," said Alex Hamilton, managing director of eOne Films UK.

“But to reach £100m in the first calendar year we didn’t have a Twilight movie feels especially gratifying.”
