Kickstarter success story and best-selling tabletop top gaming title, Exploding Kittens is now exploding into the UK licensing space with a raft of humorous adult ranges.
Striker Entertainment has secured a line up of licensing partners for the strategic kitten-themed version of Russian roulette, a game that holds the title as the most backed Kickstarter campaign of all time.
Exploding Kittens remains in the top five Amazon best-sellers list for the third year running.
In fact, sales of the card game grew 225 per cent in 2017 and is now in over 350 stockists in the UK alone.
Thi autumn, Basic Fun is launching a range of construction toys and plush based on the gaming IP, while Just Toys is readying a selection of mini figures. For the New Year, extended ranges will take the property into gifting, stationery and accessories.
Elsewhere, and ahead of BLE 2018, Striker Entertainment has also detailed the initial roll-out of licensed ranges for the hit toy property, Fingerlings in Europe.
This autumn will see a raft of creative licensed products hit retail shelves, including puzzles and games from Cardinal, annuals from Centum, non-feature plush from Commonwealth, publishing from DK/Penguin Random House, backpacks from Sambro, games frm Winning Moves and more.
Arts and crafts will arrive via Addo and will launch at The Entertainer. Next year will see the arrival of homewares and bedding from Character World and Chia Pets from NECA.
“WowWee has established, and continues to grow, a retail beachhead with the success of the core Fingerlings toy programme, and Striker remains focused on parlaying that foothold into product categories and departments that extend the emotional and joyful connection kids are experiencing with the toys,” said Russell Binder, partner at Striker Entertainment.
Fingerlings was awarded the Toy of the Year as well as the Collectable Toy of the Year award at New York Toy Fair in February this year.
Stiker Entertainment will showcase both WowWee’s Fingerlings and Exploding Kittens at this year’s BLE on stand B80.
