Hit animated series Family Guy could be moving to BBC Two.
The show will be uprooted from its regular spot on BBC Three when the channel makes the transition to go online only in 2015.
Broadcast Now speculates that Family Guy’s cast of quirky characters is likely to make the move to BBC Two, where the channel’s controller, Kim Shillinglaw, thinks the sitcom will help BBC Two appeal to a younger audience.
The animation – featuring Seth McFarlane, Mila Kunis and Seth Green – regularly hits 500,000 viewers on its current channel.
20th Century Fox has refused to allow the show to be included on the BBC iPlayer due to concerns over piracy.
Jack Whitehall’s BBC Three comedy Backchat is already confirmed to air on BBC Two following the transition, along with Russel Howard’s Good News.
