Footbrands, a specialist in the licensed hosiery market, is looking to grow its licensing footprint, with the addition of branded footwear to its growing portfolio.
Footbrands is part of The Cookie Company Group in ‘s-Hertogenbosch, and a major player in Europe when it comes to hosiery with well-known entertainment and lifestyle brands and games.
After having focused completely on hosiery for some time, Footbrands is now expanding its offering to a wide range of branded footwear products such as flip flops, water sandals, wellington boots, and slippers.
“We saw a gap in the retail market, which we cannot wait to fill with our footwear collections. We will do this by offering the same quality and love for the product as people are accustomed to with our hosiery collections,” said Ron van den Dungen, CEO of Footbrands.
“Over the past five years, we successfully increased our presence in Europe. This is the right time to further expand our footprint. Behind the scenes, Footbrands already realised a significant development and the product group has gained a lot of knowledge. Footbrands is ready to put itself further on the map, nationally as well as internationally.”
At the same time, Footbrands will be one of the first hosiery brands to supply the European market with socks made of recycled PET bottles, which is done in collaboration with the sustainable label Trashcode.
Like Footbrands, Trashcode is part of The Cookie Company Group and its mission is to make the Fast Fashion and entertainment industry more sustainable.
“Footbrands is ready to do this, and we also noticed this increasing need in the market in which we operate. Our first socks produced from PET bottles are absolutely great. Both the quality and the handfeel are very good. So we believe that this development offers great potential for the future,” said Van den Dungen.
